About the film: As the right to read is being challenged and more books are being banned, access to public knowledge is in danger. Vital Pages emphasizes the importance of protecting public libraries to keep the people informed, and the way they have always shown up for their local communities. It also highlights those who are actively fighting to keep the ability to read as an intrinsic right as they spread awareness.
This short documentary made by Kent State student James Plested explores recent and ongoing threats towards public libraries. Join us on September 25th for a free showing followed by a Q&A and discussion. No RSVP needed, just show up!
